Our dog had trouble being on his own and also had a few issues with stealing snacks from plates. After our four session training with Steve, G became a well adjusted and calmer dog. He could sit quietly while food was being prepared or when we were away from him for a moment. He listens and pays attention to us more and despite being an “older” dog, has even learned some new tricks. K9-U is simply the best. After observing the best trained dog I had ever seen at an outdoor cafe, my boyfriend and I immediately asked the owner where or how the dog was trained. That’s how we found out about K9-U. The guy alays carried extra K9-U cards on him because so many people had asked about the training. We made an appointment and took our 6 year old Italian Greyhound to Steve. We saw a difference after just ONE visit. Steve has a gift with dogs and from the first moment we arrived, we felt very comfortable with the environment and training methods. There is no yelling or harsh correcting – the training is based on rewards and we noticed how quickly and effectively that method worked. Although our IG is not as nervous or frightened as others I have seen from that breed, he did feel the need to be touching us at all times. Steve explained that we needed to give him more confidence and praise him for his self-reliant behavior instead of coddling him when he was out of his element. He is now much calmer and listens much better. I have recommended K9-U to everyone and anyone who asks. I feel we have a much more satisfying relationship with our pup now that he is a better trained dog. He has always been a sweet loving dog but now he is one who can heel on command and be trusted around hors d’oeuvres on the coffee table – at least most of the time! Steve offers refresher classes once a month for no extra charge so we always feel as if we are up-to-date. Go see him – you will love the results! – Danielle Butler

Steve helped us with our 18 month old airedale mix Jake who came out of infant puppyhood being scared of kids, bikes and skateboards and started to lunge and snap and at people on walks. Steve really helped us understand our dog, to see him realistically for who he is and what he needs from us, and showed us how to work consistently to modify his behavior and manage him. Steve is also a terrifically fun guy to work with — he sets a tone that is at once firm, enthusiastic, playful, and all-business. 5 Stars are not a high enough rating for Steve’s Professional and compassionate assistance with Roy, “The Beagle”. Roy was involved in a “1 in a Million” biting incident where he was manhandled and completely provoked into snapping by a stranger. The stranger admitted being at fault but still filed a claim with my insurance company. Of Course, it is all insurance company’s standard policy to cancel or not renew a homeowner’s policy if a bite claim has been made. My only options were to remove Roy from our home or lose our insurance. Removing Roy was not a choice we could ever have made. I desperately searched for a “miracle” solution. I was hopeful that requesting an additional review of the circumstances regarding Roy’s incident and furnishing a certified / experienced professional evaluation of Roy’s demeanor was the only possible option for a change in the insurance policy cancellation. I did a lot of “Googling” and found several experts on Dog behavior and propensity to bite again after a self-defence provoked incident. They recommended Steve as he was close enough to come to the house and evaluate Roy. Steve spent 2 hours reading the Animal Control Reports, getting to know Roy and challenging Roy’s demeanor in multiple situations like taking food away, physically moving him, playing with him and trying to provoke a negative / aggressive response. Steve was professionally satisfied that Roy’s incident was truly a 1 in a million response to extreme physical provocation by a stranger. He wrote a 5 page thoroughly professional report which I submitted to the Insurance Company. After a 10 day multiple stage review by the Insurance Company I was ecstatic to learn we would not be cancelled and Roy could remain at home with us. There is no question that Steve’s…
